In many parts of the world, fractures go untreated, leading to permanent disability. SIGN brings bone implants to trauma patients in low- and middle -income countries. The implants are specifically designed for these settings and during operation and no image intensifier or X-ray are needed. Local surgeons and medical officers are taught how to use them and thereby hasten the healing process and assure affected patients will be able to return to their jobs.
